The Myanmar Polycrisis through the Lens of Sustainability (PolyLens) project is designed as a continuous weekly analytical publication series, with articles published weekly on The Sabai Online & Quarterly, SRIc’s public-facing knowledge platform.
The PolyLens project seeks to achieve the following objectives:
(i) Produce a regular and rigorous stream of policy-relevant analysis related to the Myanmar Polycrisis,
(ii) Translate existing research into actionable policy insights,
(iii) Develop a cumulative and searchable knowledge base on Myanmar’s sustainability challenges
In implementing the PolyLens initiative, SRIc has developed a structured public engagement approach centred on regular, high-quality analytical outputs disseminated through The Sabai platforms. This approach is anchored in the weekly publication of in-depth analysis and commentary on The Sabai Weekly Online, complemented by quarterly consolidated publications and the Sabai Podcast Series, which explore and contextualise key sustainability challenges facing Myanmar.
By combining consistent analytical production with accessible dissemination formats, The Sabai strengthens its role as a credible knowledge platform contributing to sustainability-oriented debate and policy understanding in Myanmar and the broader region.
Target SDGs:
The Edu4SD project targets three key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on enhancing sustainability literacy across Myanmar. Central to this initiative is empowering Myanmar’s youth through the strategic use of popular social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
By leveraging these digital channels, Edu4SD overcomes geographical barriers, ensuring broad and inclusive access to sustainability education regardless of participants’ physical location. This approach complements SRIc’s commitment to combining rigorous research, strategic outreach, and innovative digital engagement to foster informed and responsible sustainable practices nationwide.
These courses are strategically developed as e-learning modules to provide a comprehensive and globally accessible learning experience in the Burmese language. They align with international standards and promote a deeper understanding of critical sustainability topics.
All courses are registered and published on the Zenodo platform as open-access lessons under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license, and are also made available on YouTube to maximize reach and accessibility.
